Eight area artists are now on a disc of Oral Histories, completed during 2011 by Cheryl Hahn, Larson Gallery director, who interviewed the artists, and Sara Gettys, photo-journalist, who filmed, produced and edited the series.

The histories are a major part of the Larson Gallery’s ongoing Central Washington Artists’ Archive Project. “Central Washington artists—2007-2010”, published in 2010 by the Gallery, was the initial aspect of the project.
Artists included in the oral histories are Leo Adams, Duane Heilman, Louis Kollmeyer, Jane Orleman, all painters; Ann Marta Bowker, jewelry and fiber artist; Carolyn Schactler, apparel design, and Delma Tayer, painter and ceramics artist.

Length of interviews ranges from five to eight minutes, Hahn notes. The disc are available for sale at the Larson Gallery.

The section on Jane Orleman was introduced, and ran continuously, at Gallery One in Ellensburg during Orleman’s recent solo exhibit which continued through February.
